Poll: Oprah's big vegan challenge

oprah-vegan-challenge.jpgThe Queen of daytime TV issued just their latest decree.

Join me and my 378 staffers and Bob Lind for one week from your Chicago throne declared. Oprah was inspired to go vegan after reading Veganist: book you lose weight, get healthy change the world by Kathy Freston, which is a brand new to promote a vegan diet.

I imagine that millions of people put this on the vegan bandwagon will as you the call from Oprah, even if it for a week.

From my understanding, it takes at least two weeks to do to experience the positive health benefits of a vegan diet. Many in the first week are a bit sick as adjust their bodies in a new way to eat.

Personally I have no problem with veganism, but it bugs may have me as a person like Oprah, such an impact on the masses.

What do you think? Participation in the survey and comments below.

Will Oprah and you join a week or more vegan?

Veganist

veganist

Kathy Freston's new book Veganist is about the "skewness in" the vegan diet. This is a welcome approach almost militant intimidation by groups like PETA.

Freston is previously known for the book quantum wellness - a holistic Detox Diet, the vegetarian. Freston now has support for Oprah Winfrey who go challenged all comers vegan for a week.

The Veganist is more than going on a diet, and far more than losing weight. Freston makes a series of "promises" or results to go Vegan is caused by the text of your choice.

Your body is seek and maintain your ideal weightAre your risk of health issues as lower: cancer, diabetes and heart disease.Live longer and better.Take yourself out of harm's way Here is you industrialized food machine addressing, which makes it easier for bacteria in the food chain (think pig and cow factories).Save money The real cost of animal protein is much higher than what we think it is.You will reduce your carbon footprint and protect the environment You will be suffering reduce. You will be following the wisdom of the great spiritual traditionsYou develop and take with you the world

It remains its resources a strong argument for following a diet of vegetable origin and how the world over, will become louder call for vegan type diets. We can help to eat every person in the world, which every night 8 oz steak.

But I struggle with the need for dogma and rigid rules to a diet. I, for example fishing. I occasionally to catch a fish (and all fisheries rules and boundaries to follow). I prepared the fish and eat it. Although I agree with many of the principles of veganism, I will not stop fishing on the requirements of dietary dogma.

Obese man gains weight two for surgery to qualify

weight loss surgery.jpg

Fans of "The Simpsons" can't remember the episode (circa mid-90's) where Homer decides to use so that he can go on disability weight.

A man in the UK is now trying to qualify a similar performance for weight loss surgery.

In McCloud weighs 127 lb (279), but local health authorities will only consider him for gastric bypass surgery if he weighs 133 kg (292 lbs) and a body mass index (BMI) of 45 has.

McCloud, said he was 4 packets French fries, food, bread, Bacon æ of a loaf rolls every day in an attempt to reach his target weight.

The 5'7 "man to approximately 15 pounds a BMI of 43.5 reach won."

The operation will help me to prevent that insulin and help me with my other problem... I have diabetes for the best part of 15 years, and I am absolutely terrified as a burden for my family in the attention- but I still eat, and that I can get my head around not.

Honestly, I have a hard time getting my head around this me one. I'm not here to judge, but it's disheartening to hear that this man feels himself as if this is his only option. It is even more discouraging that this situation a microcosm of our society-the easiest way is looking has become rather than the most advantageous.

Interestingly, McCloud's doctor on board with this plan is curiously says,

Darin done all he can do and the problem is, if he surgery soon doesnt he loses his job and add further complications of diabetes.
I can honestly say that when faced with a similar dilemma, it would be very tempting to choose win 13 pounds vs. 80 + pounds to lose. But as I mentioned above, it is regrettable that we come to a point, where we think all our bad choices that modern medicine will save us.

Could the argument that the system will things wrong, but in the end of this situation points to a major social problem.
