Heavier young adults tend to hang out with and date other obese people.

Though seems to be not inherently shocking this research, the study shows sub-finding an encouraging-obese young adults have more social contacts, trying to lose weight lose weight and larger intentions.

Said health behavior and their results, to find "cluster inside of social networks", study author, Dr. Tricia M. Leahey, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and human behavior at Brown medical school, that support previous research results.

The study included 151 participants normal weight, and 137 overweight or obese men and women. Participants completed questionnaires about your weight, height, the number of overweight social contacts and their perceived social norms for overweight and obesity behaviors.

Previous research at Harvard Medical School found that a friend obese, increases a person who is obese 57% chance of becoming 40 percent when a sibling is obese and 37 percent, when a spouse becomes obese.

Despite this Leahey and your team discovered that,

If the obese young adults have more social contacts are trying to lose weight you have larger intentions to lose weight.

Why say those social contacts are trying to lose weight, you tried to lose? Leahey says social norms for weight loss, such as encouragement of others and their weight loss, account for the Association Agreement.

Researchers normal weight people lovers with obese people have become unsure whether overweight people are looking for other obese people or whether weight set.

Leahey suggests that it is probably both. Obese people tend to attract each other, but the phenomenon described as a social contagion.

It is somewhat encouraging to know that attracted people who have similar habits, while you also the aims of friends and partners.

Leahey suggests that young adults work with other overweight of peers trying to lose weight overweight.
